Vermont Events 2025 and Explanation of Delay Registration Opening

Hi folks,

There are exciting development that NER will revamp the Green Mountain 200km to be more dirt-y and still same amount of baker-y, and probably more gorge-ous since I am promoting it as the route “modifier” (I can’t claim I design the route since I am just adding elements that I like to the existing route…). Still same planned date 5/3/2025 and start will be 06:30 am to allow maximum amount of available sunlight.  Details at the ride page and registration should be up by midweek.  As communicated before, the NEW start will be at Waterbury Park and Ride instead of Middlesex Park and Ride.  This allows more post-ride nourishment choices on ride participant’s own dime as well as closer to more lodging choice (albeit quite steep price for still technically mud season VT…).  Light snacks and soda pop will be provided post ride in lieu of traditional pizza.  Feel free to bike-dash/meal delivery/walk across the street to the Thai place or Chinese place/Ride up the hill to get ice cream if you are speedy and get a factory tour or just getting Ben and Jerry unassumingly from the Shaws kitty corner to the finish.  Thank you to Robert L to agree to lead the ride so the Prez here could enjoy the route he modified.  Please ALWAYS thank the volunteer after your ride.

We are going to also bring back the challenging North East Kingdom-300km and it is scheduled for August 9, 2025.  The start for this ride would also changed to Morrisville VT.  Ride start time would be the half hour mark before sunrise at 5:30AM at the Dunkin across from Sunset Motor Inn.  More detail to come but essentially it follows existing RUSA Route 1596 but start and finish at the published route penultimate control.  The ride leader (me) has yet to decide running the ride clockwise or counterclockwise (Most likely clockwise since the Richford control would have the most limitation on closing time), so that could be a “brand-new route” with same road…  More detail will come after route approval and registration will be up probably by July.

There is some behind the scene administrative situations we are sorting out as we go on the registration system front, hence, we appears to be slacking on putting up rides registration on BikeReg.  Fear not, thou shall past soon.  I appreciate your continuous support and understanding that this is an organization ENTIRELY run by volunteers.  (On that note, please consider to volunteer this season so others could ride.). Did I mention ALWAYS thank the volunteers already ;)?
