Last NER Ride of 2023! (Probably) Come enjoy the fall weather on a fully paved rolling route not used by NER since 2017. The route is 82 miles (127km RUSA credit) and uses popular roads in the Boston western suburbs. The route heads southwest to Northboro, MA then north to Harvard, MA before heading due East back to Medford. At 3500′ of climbing this won’t be a knee buster and all roads are paved. But the route is constantly rolling so you’ll earn the chili at the end of the ride. Highlights include miles and miles on scenic low traffic and surprisingly rural roads on the western half. There’s a few good places to stop such as Aero coffee at the first control (1/10 mile off route) and the Harvard General Store for the 3rd control. (Note: No services at the 2nd control, mile 42.)

Special note about the Harvard Store: They make excellent hot sandwiches but they are known for taste, not speed. Look for the note in the cue and plan on ordering ahead a few miles out if you don’t want to wait 15-20+ min for your food. They have grab and go bakery items too.

NER will have snacks at Emily & Jake’s house when people return. The NER Member’s meeting is at 4pm, 8 hours after the ride start so riders do not need to rush.

2023 Members Meeting @ 4pm

The yearly members meeting is in NER’s Bylaws. It is an opportunity for members to discuss any issues related to the organization which might be on their mind. These meetings have been festive occasions with snacks, recalling enjoyable rides of the past year, and looking ahead. The meeting is open to all current NER members and people can join remotely via zoom if they’d like. If planning to join remotely, please provide a valid email address in your registration to receive the Zoom link sent on Saturday.
