For those considering this ride, Clarion hotel has graciously extended the deadline for the NER group rate until midnight May 25. The rate is good for two nights-6/10 and 6/11 and is a quite reasonable $179- a steep discount these days. Just follow this link.
Note that the hotel is 0.2 miles from the start location at the train station. If you want to travel on the train with bike you will need to reserve the spot when you purchase a ticket. The space is limited but with the recent re-fitting of luggage spaces at least these days Amtrak seems to be consistent with how they deal bikes so you know what expect. This new setup has been discussed [on the google group] so you can search and read NERd experiences and tips on eg protecting paint from scratches.
