{"id":1796,"date":"2014-11-01T09:59:17","date_gmt":"2014-11-01T14:59:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nerandonneurs.org\/nersite\/?p=1796"},"modified":"2014-12-19T18:16:09","modified_gmt":"2014-12-19T23:16:09","slug":"ner-board-nominations-and-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ner.bike\/nersite\/?p=1796","title":{"rendered":"NER Board Nominations and Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is time to nominate and elect the board of directors for NER for the coming year.\u00a0 In June we approved modified bylaws change the way that the board is elected.\u00a0 Previously, the membership\u00a0 elected 4 officers who would then appoint various coordinators to make up the rest of the board.\u00a0 With the changed by laws we will now be electing a slate of 6-10 directors who will be responsible for appointing the various 3 officers from within the board (President, Clerk, and Treasurer) and may appoint additional coordinators as needed to perform various tasks (these do not need to be board members).<\/p>\n<p>To begin with, we are looking for members who are willing to serve on the board of directors. As members of the board you will be expected to attend board meetings as scheduled by the president as needed to handle NER business.\u00a0 This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electing the officers \u2013 President, Clerk, and Treasurer. You can find descriptions of the duties of the officers in the bylaws posted on the web site.<\/li>\n<li>Scheduling rides and other events to promote randonneuring in New England.
